Lockheed Martin (LMT) announced today that it plans to cut down its workforce by 1,200 jobs in a reorganization of its electronics systems business.
The jobs amount to less than 1% of the company’s workforce of 140,000. Affected employees will be notified by early April.
Separately, Lockheed said it signed a foreign military sales contract valued at $118 million to deliver SniperR Advanced Targeting Pods and Enhanced Resolution navigation pods to the Turkish Air Force.
Is this the new trend among big business? When new contracts are signed and money flows in, employees flow out?
